XPFlightPlanner 4.9.0: latest AIRAC cycles, Garmin GTN export, and more

XPFlightPlanner 4.9.0 is now available, bringing new export capabilities, improved navigation data integration, additional aircraft profiles, and several useful refinements.

The highlight of this release is the improved integration with XPNavData. You can update XPFlightPlanner to the latest available AIRAC cycle, helping you plan with current waypoints, airways, procedures, and other essential navigation data.

Stay current with XPNavData

Up-to-date navigation data is essential for creating accurate and realistic flight plans. With XPNavData, you can easily install the latest available AIRAC cycle and keep XPFlightPlanner aligned with the current aviation database.

Version 4.9.0 improves this integration, making updated AIRAC cycles work more seamlessly within the application. If you are still flying with an older cycle, now is the perfect time to update your navigation data through XPNavData.

Export flight plans to Garmin GTN

XPFlightPlanner can now export flight plans in Garmin’s .gfp format. These files are compatible with:

  • TDS GTNXi Pro
  • Reality XP GTN 750
  • Reality XP GTN 650

This new export option makes it easier to transfer routes from XPFlightPlanner directly to compatible Garmin GTN avionics.

X-Plane FMS approach exports

X-Plane FMS exports now include approach (APP) and approach transition (APPTRANS) information. This provides more complete flight plan files and reduces the amount of manual setup required before departure.

New Embraer E2 aircrafts

Two new aircraft profiles have been added:

  • Embraer E175-E2
  • Embraer E195-E2

These profiles expand the range of aircraft available when generating and optimizing routes.

Improved map experience

A new auto-zoom option can automatically adjust the map to fit the generated flight plan. Your complete route is displayed immediately after generation, without requiring manual zooming or repositioning.

New inspiration routes

Looking for your next destination? Version 4.9.0 introduces new inspiration routes to help you discover fresh flights and explore new parts of the world.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

This release also includes several fixes and usability improvements:

  • Fixed the oceanic track data source used for NAT and PACOTS updates.
  • Aircraft are now sorted alphabetically.
  • Improved the activation error message displayed when an incorrect serial number is entered.
  • Improved file path handling on Linux.
