How to add waypoint to the flight plan
Quickly add points to your flight plan with ease using the right-click function on the map. Simply right-click on an airport, VOR, DME, NDB, or FIX and select Add from the contextual menu that appears. Alternatively, you can add a waypoint to your flight plan by right-clicking on a route segment.
For even faster navigation, try using the double-click method. Simply double-click on the desired point, it will be added into the flight plan at the best position. Double-click again to remove it. With this method, you can quickly and easily adjust your flight plan on the fly.
How to start the generator
To generate a flight plan in XPFlightPlanner, you need to have at least two waypoints in your flight plan. The first waypoint should represent your departure point and the second your arrival.
Once you have added these two waypoints, you can either click on the generator button or go to the “Flight plan” menu and select “Generator”. The application will then open the route finder dialog to generate a complete flight plan for you.
How to generate a flight plan from SID to STAR
To generate a route using the SID and STAR in XPFlightPlanner, first add the SID waypoint to the beginning of your flight plan and the STAR waypoint to the end. Then, click on the generator button or select the “Generator” option from the “Flight plan” menu. This will automatically generate the route between the SID and STAR.
Once the route has been generated, for added convenience, you can also include the departure and destination airports in your flight plan.

How to update the AIRAC cycle
When a new cycle is released from Navigraph you must update the data in X-Plane, and you must reload XPFlightPlanner database from X-Plane.
To update the AIRAC cycle into XPFlightPlanner be sure to:
- First update the AIRAC cycle into X-Plane with the dedicated Navigraph tool
- Then reload the database into XPFlightPlanner
- Go to the “Help” menu and “Select navigation database…”
- Be sure “Use X-Plane database” and “Use custom data” are checked
- Click on “Import from X-Plane”
How to install XPFlightPlanner
- Download the installer from the download page
- Locate the installer in your download folder and follow the instructions
- Launch XPFlightPlanner from the Start menu
- Download the dmg (image file) from the download page
- Open the dmg and copy the application XPFlightPlanner to /Applications folder
- Eject the dmg and launch XPFlightPlanner by double clicking on its icon
- Both platforms
- After installation, register your application if your purchased a license

My browser blocks the download
Microsoft Edge may sometimes warn you about XPFligtPlanner “isn’t commonly downloaded” ; this is a common challenge faced by small software companies. For more information on this issue, please refer to this FAQ section.
Consider downloading XPFlightPlanner using an alternative browser, such as Google Chrome, if you experience issues with Microsoft Edge.
My antivirus blocks the program
Antivirus software may sometimes produce false positive results, especially for newly released software. This is a common challenge faced by small software companies.
To avoid false positive detections on XPFlightPlanner, the program and its updates are regularly submitted to Microsoft for analysis. However, some antivirus software may still flag XPFlightPlanner as a potential threat due to its limited distribution. In such cases, it is safe to unblock the software.

How to upgrade XPFlightPlanner
Upgrade to the latest version of XPFlightPlanner with ease. Simply visit our website, download the latest version for Mac or Windows, and install it without the need for uninstalling your previous version before.
In the preferences dialog, you have the option to enable automatic software updates so that you can receive notifications of any new releases as they become available. This will help ensure that you always have access to the latest features and bug fixes.
How to completely uninstall XPFlightPlanner
On Windows use the uninstaller available from Windows system preferences, or use the uninstaller located into the
C:\Program Files\XPFlightPlanner directory.
On Mac go the the
/Applications directory (or wherever XPFlightPlanner is installed) and move XPFlightPlanner application to trash.
How to register my license
To register your license, follow these simple steps:
- Locate the serial number in the order email you received.
- Open the “Register your license” dialog:
- On Windows, go to the “Help” menu.
- On Mac, go to the “XPFlightPlanner” application menu.
- Paste your serial number into the designated field.
- Click the “Activate” button to complete the registration process.
I did not receive my serial number
Don’t panic , your serial number was automatically sent to the email address you provided, after successful payment completion.
If you’re unable to locate it, kindly check all your inboxes and spam folders. If you still can’t find it, contact us and we’ll be more than happy to resend the email to you.
Why my serial number activation failed
If the activation process is unsuccessful, please ensure that there are no typing errors by copying and pasting your serial number directly from the order confirmation email. This will minimize the risk of any typos that could cause the activation to fail. If the issue persists, please don’t hesitate to contact us for assistance.
If you registered XPFlightPlanner more that 5 times on different computers, you reached the maximum activation count. Please contact us and we will find a solution!

- Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Y
- Relaunch XPFlightPlanner
- Be sure XPFlightPlanner is running
