XPFlightPlanner 4.9.1 released

XPFlightPlanner 4.9.1 is now available!

This update focuses on performance, route generation, and reliability, with several improvements to both flight planning and the Moving Map.

Faster route generation

The route generator has been significantly optimized and is now up to 10× faster.

This makes generating routes much quicker, especially for longer flights or more complex routing.

We have also improved the search for departure and destination airports in the Route Generator dialog, making it easier to find and select the airports you want to use.

AIRAC cycle check at startup

XPFlightPlanner now checks at startup whether the AIRAC cycle used by XPFlightPlanner matches the navigation data cycle installed in X-Plane.

This helps identify situations where the flight planner and simulator are using different navigation databases, which can otherwise lead to differences in waypoints, airways, or procedures.

Improved oceanic routes

Several issues related to oceanic tracks have also been fixed.

NAT and PACOTS routes are now displayed correctly without scattered route segments, and oceanic track updates are significantly faster.

Routes crossing the 180° meridian are also displayed continuously, without artificial discontinuities on the map.

Reduced CPU usage while tracking

CPU usage has been reduced while XPFlightPlanner is connected to X-Plane in Moving Map mode.

This improves overall efficiency when following your aircraft in real time during a flight.
